When it rains and pours (as it has been for the last few days) it is perfect for staying indoors and sewing!
I finished off a quilt top for my church's quilt group.
Someone else had sewn most of the quilt top, but I finished it off.
It's a lap size quilt: 50-something" x 70'ish".
The quilt will be for someone dealing with cancer.
Purdy, eh?!
The rain STOPPED!
And the SUN came out!
... And I needed a pick-me-upper after getting off a dreaded night shift
(oh the joys of being a R.N.)
So... I hung my SAND AND SEA GLASS quilt on the wash line...

My friend Dalene did an AMAZING job with a seashell pattern! I just LOVE it! |

Stunning, Wilma! And the quilting is perfect for the quilt. I think your inner border is a good idea - that wasn't in the pattern was it? It allows your eye to rest before you get to the hourglass border.

Thanks, Colleen! That border was not in the pattern, but I wanted a specific finished quilt to fit the master bed. I really like the border, too. The gals at Traditional Pastimes were great in helping me select the fabrics that I needed to finish the quilt.
DeleteI am looking forward to your finished quilt, too!
It is really nice! The inner sashing prior to the hourglass blocks really showcase both the blocks and the hourglasses. The quilting is spectacular. I finished mine as well and followed the pattern exactly from the store. Your block placement is very well thought out as well, and it works great. Mine is on my couch, and my dog is very protective of it! Thanks for sharing.
