Summer Star Sampler Quilt Along - Done!

I am now finished with all 3 of my summer quilts:

  1. Jelly Roll Quilt Along - see last post
  2. Mystery Quilt - I forgot to take a photo but it's now being Free-Motion quilted. (I'll post a photo after I add the binding.)
  3. Summer Star Sampler Quilt Along (SSSQA)
I don't have any major projects due at this time, but I will finish off my quilts before tackling any new ventures in quilting. I think it might be time for me to focus a bit more, too, on my photography b/c it's autumn and people want photos done for their Christmas cards. Most importantly, I want to spend quality time with my husband and son. My son, by the way, turns 1 year old tomorrow!!

This is the centre-piece for my SSSQA. It measures 19.5" x 19.5"

Today I pieced all twelve 12" blocks & the centre piece together, and added sashing & borders. The dark border on the quilt is a navy blue with white polka dots. I am so pleased with how it turned out! The final quilt top measures approximately 64" x 64".

I have a lovely fabric in blue & white for the backing, but it isn't quite wide enough, so I'll add swatches of the quilt top leftover fabrics to insert into the backing.

(Total cost for SSSQA quilt to date: $82.76. Batting & LAQ costs not yet included.)

  2. My center medallion turned out a little smaller than indicated, too. But your finished product is beautiful. Well done. I like how you keep track of costs (except that it might be scary to know). Good idea.
