Jelly Roll Quilt: Done(!!!), and Latest LCQA Quilt Block

Remember that Jelly Roll Quilt Along that I started last summer? Well, it is now officially FINISHED!!

I just LOVED doing this quilt along, and I LOVE the fabric & quilt block designs. I had the quilt quilted together by "My Sewing Room" in Calgary. The quilting design (done on their long-arm machine) is of dragonflies. The binding was my evening project: a great way to finish my quilt, sit by my husband in the living room & catch up on daily events while snuggling under the quilt.

Jelly Roll fabric: "Pashmina" by Moda Fabrics.

The label. Writing on fabric isn't the easiest thing to do. Perhaps I'll print them on computer one day.

I completed block #7 ("Spin Wheel") for the Layer Cake Quilt Along. Originally I cut white patterned borders & the corner squares were going to be green with polka dots, but I botched up the measurements, so I needed to cut more fabric to make this quilt block work.

I just LOVE this latest quilt block - very vibrant & fun.

I think these blocks are looking nice together, although the photo looks faded on this blog. I'm seriously considering brown sashing for the finished quilt. Watcha think??

  1. I'm inspired. I finished all the blocks for that quilt-along and they are just sitting there. Must get to work on that now that I see yours. Love the new ones too.

  2. I've been running to a very similar schedule as you with my jelly roll sampler quilt. I finally got mine finished about a week after you finished yours. Didn't enjoy hand sewing the binding down one little bit. Like yours, mine came out well. Can't post pictures yet though as it's going to be a birthday gift for my mother in law this coming weekend and I don't want to spoil the surprise.

Feels good to finally get it finished doesn't it?
